Thank you everyone,  I found it.  Middle of the thorough bayon the roof.  Hidden by the central vacuum lines etc.  Had to crawl right in the bay.

Now that you have found it....That does NOT solve the problem and we need more information.  Please give us some feedback as requested.

While you were looking, did you locate the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch)? That is more likely the cause...based on your comment..."Starting Generator fixed it".

Thanks

Ya, I know that the special tools help.  We had large overhead cranes at work that could handle just about anything.  Handling the large tires, axles, engines, transmissions all have a lot of weight but with the cranes it made everything safer and easier.  Only as a last resort did we attempt to do repairs out in the mine.

So knowing that, and not having the proper tools I didn't even consider trying to do the oil bath hubs.  I have the knowledge but know when to go to the "experts"

But now that I have a garage with a good floor to work I am now just looking at buyint a good set of jack stands.  I am considering changing my airbags, since they are +22 years old.

Prior to changing AC's mine would sometimes leak due to high humidity.  Not sure but probably due to the drains holes being stopped up in the drain cups.  When I changed the AC's the drain cups had dead bugs in them so it would drain to the tubing.  But there was no real way to clean them.

Panicked the other day when water poured from one of my AC vents during a serious downpour. Water attempting to get into my nice large HD tv.  Water dripping on bed directly below the AC.

The vent is 10-15 feet from the AC unit.

Remembering the blue stuff on the long long hold down bolts, I carefully removed each bolt while feeling for their tightness. Sure enough. Several were not tight enough.

Our AC's run for hours without turning off here in the heat of Central Florida. The vibration is constant.

When I replaced the AC's I did not use any loctite. I remembered the rear AC dripping once before and after tightening them just shrugged it off. It nearly cost me some serious $$ this time.

Using blue loctite this time I removed the front and rear ac bottoms to retighten and loctite the bolts.

Did I mention I used loctite. The clue should have been the blue loctite that was already on the bolts.

Good point especially with new installation, two layers of the foam gasket so chances are the foam will compress and needs to be checked  several times after install.  This reminds me to check mine.

That and depends on the original install.  After I had a bad leak after a ran I changed the gaskets on my old AC's and found they did a terrible job on alignment of the two layers of gaskets, no wonder I had a problem.  I had tried to tighten the bolts for the AC's but it help, finally figured out why>>> see pictures.

I like Beemermcr's idea to alarm the fuel door. Even though the whole swinging door can be lifted to gain access, I think opening or prying on the fuel door would be the first instinct.

Help needed. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement slide cylinder like this? I was told by the hydraulic shop that the valve section was bad and needed replacement. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. 2004 executive

Pretty costly but not sure what valve section could go bad. Not much in there to break except the seals.

I’m am chasing air leaks as well.   I fixed two on the front tank, they are not leaking now.  But seems like the system is leaking a bit more than it was before.  A question on the shuttle valve on the front tank.  Am I correct in thinking that if the shuttle is leaking the air is not leaking out of the air system but it is leaking from the front to the back tank or the other way around.  An indication of that leak would be that the pressures go down about equally in the front a rear tanks. Is that correct?

Here is a PDF with the complete paint codes (all color schemes) for 2006 Monaco Diplomats. These paint codes are for BASF Diamont basecoat paint (that's what Monaco used on Diplomats).  This would be followed up with clearcoat.

2006 Diplomat Monaco Paint Codes.pdf

Now that you have that... I'll tell you that when I had some touchup work done about 2 years ago on my 2006 Dip, they scanned the coach and mixed custom paint.  They said decades of sun would fade the paint and the orignal codes may not match with the original paint.  The scanned paint was a perfect match. Most any body shop / paint shop should be able to do that.

Based on Ivan's pictures this looks like a simple design and easy fix with new seals.

I'd recommend having them show you the problem.  If a seal failed and damaged the barrel and/or piston I could see it not being repairable.  Other that a seal kit.

Get some pictures.

Exactly right. A small leak will not be enough to close the shuttle valve and makes it hard to figure where that leak is, front vs rear. Since I couldn't detect any last obvious leaks with bubbles anymore anywhere, I isolated the two tanks.  It was a very small leak but i wanted to finish it off. Unplugged the 1/2" line to rear tank right at the shuttle valve an capped it. Put a short piece of line with a cap into the open valve port. Filled the tanks and watched the front tank lose pressure over time while rear was good. That let me focus on the front accessories that I kept similarly isolating until the culprit was found in a place I couldn't have accessed with sprayer previously. Good luck!

After fixing a leak in line from gray tank to valve for second time I used JB WELD, I had used flex seal paste previously because I was on the road and couldn’t get to area easily. It lasted 6 mos.  I checked with flex seal folks and guess what, flex seal doesn’t work on ABS. Just an FYI.

If you have a drain line, it would be obvious from inside the coach looking up into the ceiling opening. I have a piece of clear hose there connecting to a pex line, routing the condensation under the coach. Not much to see from the top.

Front two corners of the unit.

You may need to remove the cover over the evaporator coil to get a better look at them.

If you don't have drains cups you would have to go up on the roof and look.  The older AC's had metal shroud over the evaporator coil.  The newer AC's have a plastic cover you can remove.  The condensation drains into a pan.

On either side of the AC there is a drain that the water would drain to on top of the roof.

If you have drain cups they are mounted underneath, you can see them if you look under the AC.

Lo & Behold! New Information from REV on my 2006 Diplomat!
Scotty Hutto

I have tried to find plumbing diagrams for my coach (Dip 40 DST) with has a bath and a half a couple of times before, and were told they didn't exist.  I had a random thought and asked for them again two weeks ago, and REV found a set and sent them to me! They also sent a complete set of wiring diagrams different (more compete) than what I was originally given.

They are now posted in the files section.

My point is that if you asked REV for something several years ago and didnt get it, try again!  Apparently they've located additional information in the last few years.

In 2021 prior to going on a long trip I did a leak down test on my rig, it held air for over a week.  Good enough.

Later that year I left on another trip and stopped at a campground overnight, next morning ready to leave I turned the key on and the low air alarm came on.  So I started monitoring and my rig started to loose air at a faster rate but it had decent pressure while driving.  Made to Big Bend National Park and had time to try and find the problem.  Took a spray bottle of soapy water and started spraying, every one of the four Pressure Protection Valves were leaking.  But since it seemed to be at an acceptable rate I continued onto my trip.  While I was visiting the Petrified Forest NP in AZ I stopped at the visitor center, 45 minutes later the air had dropped to almost 40 psi.  Decided to head  home to investigate.

I replaced all the PPV's plus any other fitting that had the potential for failure.  Decided to replace most of the push to connect fittings.  I had one piece of tubing that had a sharp bend in it going into the PTC fitting, ended up replacing that fitting with a compression fitting and that fixed that small leak.

My rig will now stay up for weeks, like Ivan I chased all the leaks until there were NONE.

On my 3rd time (2 weeks ago) asking I got 10 different pdf's from REV, they said it is all they have but going to wait another couple months and try for paint codes and plumbing diagram. Only things I am missing.

Ivan, I have capped the shuttle valve as you suggested and as you found, my leaks are in the front tank. At this point the soap bubble test is not identifying any leaks.

If I may ask what was the culprit you found?

Thanks

Mike, my leak is from the air operated step cover cylinder when retracted. Sometimes I can hear the leak and if I close it again it goes quiet. Very slow leak but one day I will pull the cylinder out and fix it.

Centramatic Balancers VS Tire Beads
cbr046

I bought a bucket of beads and had them installed with new tires last Fall.  So far they're doing great.  They'll last me a lifetime or 3 sets of tires (whichever comes first).  Different size tires call for different weights (of beads), so maybe too much of a good thing isn't a good thing . . . . including Centramatics + beads.

I have filtered cores in my valve stems after the previous owner installed the smaller beads that continued to jam open the cores.  It was very difficult checking tire pressures as I would have to remove the TPMS sensor, remove the core, let the clogging bead blow out (and I can still see), then re-install the core.

The condensation from the AC falls into a pan that diverts the water to either side of the roof gasket.  If any amount of dead bugs or stuff gets in the drain holes the pan won't drain and condensation could make its way into the coach.  If it gets into the duct work it could travel through the duct and drain at the next hole/opening.  My overhead lights are right under the duct. there may be a hole up there allowing the condensation to drain into the light.

When I replace my AC's in 2021 I inspected my duct work with a remote camera, I found a large mouse hole right above one of the light.  I was able to fix it by removing the light and working through a hole in the plywood above the light.

Mine are that way too. The condensate was overflowing the pan into the return opening under certain conditions. I noticed that the holes in the pan were too small and not quite in the right spot (unless the coach is 100% perfectly level) so I drilled 2 more larger holes on each side of the pan to let the condensate water run out - problem solved.

I took care not to let the bit grab and puncture the metal roof. I also level up then tilt just a touch to the driver side so that the runoff goes away from the party side. YMMV.

I’m surprised the shop didn’t try to sell you a new one. Around here there are a few shops that would just build a new one if they couldn’t match it with something off the self and it would be a whole lot less than HWH’s price.

Both air tanks lose air together

On my front fire wall there is a black plastic cover over the brake treadle valve.  There are several air connections there.  You might pull the cover and check.  I think @Vanwill52 had a leak at the treadle valve, the hoses going into the were coming in at an angle and the PTC fitting was leaking.

Last time I took a end gland off the cylinder on my tractor to a hydraulic shop to have them make one it was 2X what I could buy a new one for.

Machining something from shop takes time and the hourly rates make it uneconomic to compete if you can still buy from other sources.

But you never know unless you ask.

Yes it's funny how it works sometimes, to have a new jack built here it was 1/2 the cost of what HWH quoted me but we do have a lot of hyd. shops around here so competition is pretty high too I guess.

Mike, I should have mentioned that my leak stops at 60 psi so I knew it is one of the accessories past PPV, like the horns, vacuum generator, step cover, door seal and whatever else you might have there, I think even the tire inflation hookup might be on PPV.

The good part is that this cylinder is really easy to take apart to check the damage. Not much torque on the gland since it uses a boss type oring.  I would think that if any metal part is worn, it would have to be leaking really bad first, for many actuations.

So to update the issue I’m having with this cylinder. I was told by the hydraulic shop that the issue is in the aluminum block pictures attached. The cylinder its self has new seals and has been honed and cleaned. The cylinder won’t extend out or retract in. They tell me the issue is inside that aluminum block. Anyone else had same issue?

Looks like it should work, be careful working around it if it’s sitting up a little tall. I think I used a T and a close nipple.

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the insides of the block, probably because it did not give me trouble. I realize now that the gland I show is on gen slide cylinder. I would take it apart and look for any kind of blockage to/from the line fitting.

One other option would be to dump the air in the front wet tank and the rear dry tank.  That should set the internal shuttle check valve and isolate the front tank without a need to cap the line.  Naturally, that assumes the shuttle internal check valves are working.

Upgrade/consolidate audio/tv/home theater
Newcsn

To say AV/tech stuff has changed since our coach was constructed in 2006 is probably the understatement of the century! That being said, I'm in the process of doing some upgrades & I'm sure there are some audiophiles that can provide some quality feedback on a few points.

TV: Just installed a TCL 50" Google TV up front. Will be abandoning the bedroom TV - simply don't use it & that space can be used for something more practical.

Home Theater Receiver: Planning to upgrade to a receiver that has at least 5.2 channel surround sound, Bluetooth, HDMI w/ ARC & one that will hopefully work with the existing Sony 4 ohm speakers (Who knows, I might replace these too!). Would like to stay under $300 for the receiver - closer to $200 wouldn't hurt my feelings. Ideas?

Dash radio: This seems like an irrelevant piece of equipment for us. We never listen to anything but Sirius XM & stream it through the old Sony home theater receiver via a Bluetooth adapter that uses the RCA jacks. The new home theater receiver will have Bluetooth & will replace this adapter. In our situation, why should we spend money on/keep/incorporate the dash radio - what am I missing here?

Speakers: There are 9 speakers in the front half of the coach - some dedicated to the dash radio & some to the home theater. Further, attempting to balance sound through the current configuration has always seemed impossible - regardless if it's dash radio of home theater - the sound is never good. Because we will be using the new receiver for all things audio, the dash radio speakers seems to have no relevance.   Given our uses of the system, what's the best way to configure the 9 speakers to be able to balance sound in the front half of the coach? If we want music in the bedroom we'll address this via a couple Bluetooth speakers.

We're looking forward to actually enjoying some well-balanced, quality audio in our coach! Thanks for your thoughts!

Looks like a pressure relief valve on the side, this might be struck.  Like Ivan says, take it apart and look for some type of blockage.

You might call HWH and request a drawing of the cylinder and block.

I have a generator slide that has an aluminum block, inside is a "lock valve" that gets stuck and won't permit the cylinder go in or out.  I is a small part that shuttles back and forth depending on which way cylinder is extended or retracted.  But once hydraulic flow stops it locks the cylinder from moving.

Houghton RecPro AC Conversion From Dometic
Oregon04Windsor

Is there any reason you can't just drop in a Recpro ducted unit that runs off the remote control and not use any of the Dometic or Microair thermostat wiring?  Would the furnace not operate properly then?  I just don't care about having two zones or being able to remotely set the bedroom a/c.  I'm fine with a remote in the bedroom and a unit that runs independently of the front.  Heck, I don't even care about it being ducted as long as it blows cold! 😁

Houghton RecPro AC Conversion From Dometic
Brad Loehr

Yes you can drop in a Houghton - Recpro and have it run independently from the Dometic thermostat.  That is the benefit of this AC unit as the thermostat and controls are all internal and it has a simple remote to operate.

I prefer to not run my cold AC air through my H ducting.  I rather have the AC blow straight down.  The reason being is it has less resistance to air flow going straight down and out and I dont have to cool the entire roof off before I get all the AC cold air through the vents.

No your furnace will not operate properly.   Read all the information in this post and the attached documents on the reasons why.
