  1. Repair guy just left and found what I expected. Both the cord reel and levelers worked on a trip a few weeks ago and both were broken when we tried to head out the next weekend so I figured it had to be related. Power for the cord reel switch was taken from power to the leveler control and the power wire there had a fitting that was so corroded that is was basically making no connection. He replaced that end and everything works great again. Even fixed one of my wiggly side view mirrors while he was here. Few hundred bucks for his time and we're on the road again.
  2. If you look closely at the photos you'll see I have 3 window sash locks on there.
  3. I'm sure others have done similar with older coaches....I Just finished up one of my first mods in our 2005 diplomat. We're old enough to have cabinets for old school tvs to slide in. A previous owner eliminated the front TV and added a 65 inch flat screen where the table and chairs used to be. I had a friend build this flat cherry panel for the bedroom tv to mount on with a piano hinge so we can swing open and not lose all that storage. We'll keep the starlink router and power cords back there and may add a DVD player as well. Turned out pretty good. Just hoping it stays in place while rattling down the road over the years.
  4. I've never checked my milage....not sure that I want to know
  5. Finally got a few minutes to test after returning home today. After several minutes of removing gobs of silicone from a previous owners attempt at waterproofing the switch I found no power at the switch. Won't have the time or interest in chasing that all the way to the fuse panel and I already have a guy scheduled to come Tuesday to look at that and my dead levelers so I'll let him take a look and report back what we find. Thanks for all the input so far
  6. No heating problems at all. Just did another weekend trip down to central utah to ride ATV's with a group of friends. Took the truck so at least one of us would have transportation around town. Easy tow down and back, no heating problems. 2022 silverado crew cab short bed Hi pirate! I bought a 2022 silverado z71 crew cab short bed. Just shy of 7k lbs if I remember right. Blue ox tow bar and rvi breaking system. The cool thing about the truck is the tow bar mounts are super easy....remove the gm factor tow hooks on the front and replace with the ones matching the tow bar. Looks like a super easy install although I paid to have it done. Cost me about 6 grand for everything at camping world Good point on the battery. Camping world told me that was an issue with these trucks. Mines a 2022 silverado. They installed a battery cut off switch in the dash...very clean install...you hardly notice it. After putting the truck in neutral and setting up the transfer case, one push of the button shuts all power down. Push the button again when we arrive at our destination and power is restored and you can adjust everything so you can drive again. Pretty simple. I can hook up and be ready to tow in probably 15 minutes
  7. No noise at all. I checked the fuse up front and it is fine...haven't checked anything else yet
  8. The ride home was just as smooth. Camping world here in salt lake city did a great job setting everything up for us. I can have the truck hooked up and ready to roll in 15 minutes or less. Loving the DP life!
  9. I'll have to look into those. Thanks for the tip.
  10. Yesterday was our first trip with this rv and truck in tow. I previously owned a national rv gasser that I pulled an Acura mdx behind and knew the next rv would have to be a diesel. That national on the hills was a killer. Yesterday we drove salt lake city to Dillon montana with my crew cab silverado in tow and had a great experience. No problem holding 65 mph the whole trip. Hardly even felt the thing back there. I'm loving my first diesel experience
  11. Cord reel worked fine when we were out last weekend. Pulled out the cord last night to plug in at home and get ready for today's trip. No juice to the reel when I just went out to put things away so we can leave. Any suggestions of where to look for a breaker or fuse that might be blown? Luckily I was able to wind things by hand so we aren't stuck at home. 2005 diplomat
  12. I'm sure most people are sick of reading about norcold issues. I've found lots of helpful tips as I've read the forums trying to figure mine out so maybe this will help someone in the future. We're driving a 2005 Diplomat that we purchased used a couple years ago. Fridge worked fine on the first handful of outings the first year. Late last year and so far every single trip this year we've had issues, mostly the NO CO code when trying to start up the unit before a trip. I've replaced the sensor that was part of a recall after finding the red light on and not being able to reset with a magnet. A few trips ago I learned how to reset the no co by jumping a wire on the board to reset. What we've ended up doing since mostly we're just going for a couple days somewhere is put a few bags of ice in the fridge so our food doesn't spoil on the drive and just assumed we'd have to buy more ice along our trip. After 3 or 4 trips like this we've found that the ice cools the unit down on the drive and once we've plugged in at our destination the norcold works just fine....so it appears the issue we have is cooling down after sitting turned off. We brought the rig home yesterday to prep for the holiday weekend trip up into montana. I plugged in last night, filled the fridge full of several bags of ice, and went to bed. This morning, nice and cold and no errors. Maybe there's a fix for this out there or maybe not, but if all I have to do is add some ice to help things cool down before we leave, then be trouble free the rest of the trip, I'll be a happy camper. Much easier and cheaper than replacing the fridge.
  13. I think I found the answer searching another forum. This photo looks almost identical to mine. Yellow is the oil dipstick...the one above for the trans and larger one below for oil fill. Thanks all for the comments....I'm feeling a little more confident this evening after reading a little more.
  14. Yes...it is rear radiator. I pulled the cover in the bedroom and there isn't a cap anywhere on top of the valve cover. I'm stumped but I also may be a little dumb and just not seeing something right in front of my face! 🙂
  15. Check Engine and stop engine came on briefly. Both went away as soon as we started heading down the other side and never came back on.
