Move tv to over entry door?

Has anyone mounted a tv over the entry door?  On my 30' the tv is in the middle cabinet over the dashboard. Not a comfortable place to watch tv from.  Over the entry door would put the tv visible from the sofa and driver's seat. 

If I move it that'll give me a large storage area where the tv is now. Will just need to put a matching door on it.

Do you have enough height over the door and the steps to mount a TV without hitting your head entering or exiting?  Most front TVs drop down lower than the height of the door.  Otherwise, there should be no problem as long as you can securely mount it so it doesn't move around while traveling.  The TV has no idea where it is.

I think you would have to install a very small tv in that location so as not to run into it. Not sure of your layout but I moved mine here on a lift

A lift behind the sofa won't work. In my 30' the kitchen sink and entry door are across from the sofa. So the only place to move it is over the door.

My main concern is is there any wiring in that area above the door? Don't want to cause any problem with screws.

Are you planning on attaching it to the cabinet over the door? I wouldn’t want to try attaching it to the ceiling for the reason you mention

There's no cabinet over the door just the wallpaper covered wall. Not planning to attach it to the ceiling. So if I do this it'll be attached to the bare wall.

I would think that the only wiring in that area would be the outside light. May not be any structure to attach to though. Maybe try a search with a stud finder first
