TANDD2 Posted yesterday at 12:00 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:00 AM It appears that over the past 2.5 years in storage my 4 L16 house bank batts have been fried. I watered every month; seemed to take more as time went by. When I pulled it out of covered storage , where it was on 115 volts with Freedom invertor on, they would not hold a charge. Voltage out of charger was over 14 at float. It was suggested that I unplug the temp sensor and see what resulted. By this time I had determined batts were fried so I replaced them. with new batts charge voltages are normal and drop down to 13.5 at float as it should. Now the question, how beneficial is temp compensation and should I replace temp sensor? THX TANDD 2002 HR Endeavor 40 ISC
vito.a Posted yesterday at 04:04 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:04 AM I doubt the battery temp sensor is the cause for your fried batteries. It is just a nice to have and not mandatory. You need to read your inverter manual and make sure it's set up properly for the type of batteries you have.
